George Clooney, who was honored at the AFI Awards, suffered an accident on the island of Sardinia in Italy on Tuesday , 10th July. Police confirmed to NBC News that George was taken to hospital in the city of Olbia. The injuries were not serious and he was soon released.

The star was riding a scooter near Olbia when a car crossed its path at an intersection and hit it. An ambulance transported him to John Paul Hospital, where a injury was reported on his knee. His wife Amal Clooney soon went to the hospital to stay with her husband, according to La Nuova Sardegna newspaper.
