Selena Gomez has prepared a new song for the second season of the series 13 Reasons Why. Selena released the song Back To You and the lyric video, which features scenes from 13 Reasons Why.

“With this song, it’s a very special album,” she explained to Zane Lowe during Apple’s Beats 1. “I want it to be a beautiful message in a very complicated but very entertaining way,” said the series’s executive producer. She even spoke of the public’s reaction to her having shown suicide and rape in the first season of 13 Reasons Why.

“Comfort is the enemy of progress, I think that when something makes that kind of noise, it’s for two reasons: either it’s too bad or it’s too incredible, and I think that’s when you get people to wake up. I have had several parents and children who came to me [and said] how it just opened the door to healthy communication, and that’s all you want.” – Selena explained.

“You know, we’re not going to end these things or try to go through this unless we take those risks,” she said, who also said no one “is trying to desensitize” the issues the characters face in the series. And as a result of the repercussions, she learned “to be bold, to support what you believe.”
