“Woman at War”: in green and against everything
In the film “Woman at war“, with its bow, its arrows and its base, combative Halla sabotages the Icelandic electrical installations in order to penalize the aluminum industry and especially to preserve the environment. Meanwhile, she hopes for three years to get a green light to adopt a little girl.
Northern cinemas rarely usurp their reputation for eccentricity, nor do they miss an opportunity to value their territories. Taking hero as an ecologist and almost fifty-year-old choir leader, Benedikt Elingsson thus sets the bar high question singularity; it’s a shame that he incorporates into his story a twin sister, an old scripting moon which, as soon as it appears on the screen, will have a decisive role in the outcome.
This spoils, if not the ferocity of the political and poly-militant (in favor of the adoption by single women, against the commodification of natural resources, against the offense of facies), the overall quality of the film. Even if it goes in the direction of History; even if it is nicely packaged in an ultra-lean aesthetic (with soundtrack visible because played in the image by a trio of hell), the message always wins to be amalgamated to a plot worthy of its pretensions. Otherwise, he runs the risk of resembling a luxury leaflet for public conquered in advance.https://www.the-locus.com/woman-at-war-in-green-and-against-everything/https://www.the-locus.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/180703_15....multimediaarticles1806dzfzefefzf29WomanatWarSlotMachine2018PhotoJimmyAndresSalinaMoreno.jpghttps://www.the-locus.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/180703_15....multimediaarticles1806dzfzefefzf29WomanatWarSlotMachine2018PhotoJimmyAndresSalinaMoreno-150x150.jpgMOVIESentertainment,movies,Review,Woman at WarIn the film 'Woman at war', with its bow, its arrows and its base, combative Halla sabotages the Icelandic electrical installations in order to penalize the aluminum industry and especially to preserve the environment.
